Please call 1 800-322-GIRL (4475) to speak directly with someone who can help you get involved!

Who can join?
Girl Scouts is for every girl, everywhere. Girl Scouts welcomes girls of all religions, nationalities, economic backgrounds and abilities. Girls, ages 5-17, or in kindergarten to grade 12, can join. Identified by the membership pin, all members share in the Girl Scout Promise & Law, pay national dues, and follow safety guidelines. The uniform, though not required for participation, is a powerful symbol that says, "I belong to Girl Scouts!"

How much does it cost?
The annual membership fee to be a member of Girl Scouts of the USA is $10. This includes accident insurance which covers participation in Girl Scout activities. To ensure that all girls can participate in Girl Scouts, financial assistance may be requested from the council.

What types of things do Girl Scouts do?
Girl Scouts is not just about cookies, camp, and crafts! Girl Scouts are given progressive opportunities to explore the world around them.

Recently, girls in our council have participated in:
  • Overnight adventures at the Sacramento Zoo

  • Unique cultural ceremonies from around the world

  • Fashion shows

  • Career shadowing

  • Try-It Saturday and more!

To find opportunities like these and more download the 2007-2008 Event Calendar.

What type of Girl Scout am I?
